WELCOME TO THE NEW FORUM!! This is a step in the right direction for the community as we all need a place for us. So I have set out to make that happen. I will not be doing this for profit, though tips or donations are appreciated (SEE DONTATIONS THREAD) as we know that equipment and hosting etc does cost money. I will do my best on here and I will also make sure that we have a true back up that other than I can access in the event something happens to me. With that said, here are some of the things set up for the forum:
1) I have reserved a full 1 terabyte on my NAS. It is a 5 bay nas with 1 disk redundancy. To that I will also have an SSD in the rear usb port that will mirror the files for the forum. I will also be setting up another 5 bay nas off site to mirror the primary one. If you have read this far, suffice to say, I want to make sure this lives on for all.
2) There is a limit to 5 uploads per post, and it has a limit to 5 megabyte size. This may be adjusted in the future depending on needs / storage.
3) My current internet service is 1 gig* down and 50mb* up, this should be plenty as of now, if we start to exceed this, I will look to improve on that.
4) More to come as I think of it, its still early yet lol.

Re: Welcome to Vortec4200!
Update:
1) just ordered another hard drive to complete the upgrade of the storage, that should give a total of 70 ish TB of storage. Of which will allow more space for the community.
2) I also ordered 2 m.2 ssd’s to make a read / write cache to help performance of the site.
3) probably not needed but also ordered 2 8gb ram sticks to upgrade the NAS as well. Just more of future proofing.
These upgrades will be done in steps. Once each is installed and stable, I will move on to building out another storage that is “offsite” so that we have another full backup of the forum.
I will also be working on choosing 1 if not 2 others that will have joint access and control in this. I’m am all about making sure this lives on.
So for now, know there will be growing pains but we will come out on top and have a hell of a community.
Stick around more to come.

Re: Welcome to Vortec4200!
TL:DR,
I ordered a standalone PC for the forum and will migrate the forum to it sometime around 19th/ 20th. It runs for now, just with the 403 glitch, which there's a work around for until then. Sorry for the delay's guys.
Well, if not on FB, the update as of today is that I have now decided to move to a standalone PC to handle the forum with my NAS (network attached storage) as the location to hold all the uploads, photos, etc. It will not only keep the 2 TB reserved for the forum, which is more than enough for the forum for a decade or more. This will also allow the NAS to do its job and just store files and let the PC run the forum by itself along with making real time copies of all forum files. This should also get rid of the 403 error since I will not be using the "reverse proxy" settings on the NAS. I have spent well over 30 hours alone trying to work through the 403 error and math wise its cheaper (and easier) to just migrate things to a standalone pc. I ordered a Dell micro form factor 7070. This will be plenty to host a forum and also not a behemoth of a pc idling at 130 watts. The 7070 will max out at like 90 watts. Still have enough support into 2032 or so, parts are cheap, they can be had cheap, etc etc. This will be set up in my shop, next to the router so that it is hard lined to the router which the NAS is hardlined to. This is to say, it still wont be slow.
More to come. again, I apologize for the delays guys.
